Jonzac is an attractive spa town. The town has three thermal springs, which are said to have healing properties. The town also has a number of other attractions, including a museum, a botanical garden, and a leisure center (pictured)

Our nearest town, Montendre is the center of the local community. With a good supermarket, weekly markets, doctor, vet it has everything you need during your stay.
Markets
The best local Farmers Market every Thursday morning where you can buy anything from fresh fruit and vegetables to a new pair of shoes.
Night Markets (pictured) are every Tuesday night during July and August. With over 15 different street food stands, live music and a super friendly atmosphere they are a highlight of the summer
Local Restaurants
Chez Ludo (pictured) - 10 mins drive - (Impasse du plan d’eau 17500 Léoville). Open during the summner season this "guinguette" (restaurant by water) specialises in BBQ meats. Its the perfect spot for a casual lunch or dinner and the food is always excellent
Chez Gigi - 10 mins drive(Chez fauret, 17130 Pommiers-Moulons). With its rustic setting and ever changing menu its a charming place for very good food.
Charlie's Café - 15 mins drive (Av. de Onda, 17130 Montendre) Bistro with daily set menus during the week, music and concert venue at the Weekend its a fun place to go.
Local Attractions
Cognac - (45 mins drive) - The historic Cognac, home to one of France's most prestigious exports, The great Cognac houses of the city such as Remy Martin, Hennessy and Courvoisier are great for tours. You should also visit the historic center of the old town with its narrow cobbled streets around the castle.
La Rochelle (pictured)- 1hr drive - This wonderfully historic and beautiful port city with a wide variety of great monuments, shops, markets, restaurants, nightlife and world famous aquarium, is a great day trip during your stay.
Aubeterre-sur-Dronne (pictured) - 1 hr drive - is one of the "Plus Beaux Villages de France" (Most Beautiful Villages of France). It is known for its medieval architecture, including its church, the Église monolithe d'Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, which is carved out of the rock face.
Blaye - 45 mins - Today, the citadel of Blaye has been listed as World Heritage by UNESCO with magnificent views over the largest estuary in Europe: the Gironde.
Its a nice walk through the citadel along its narrow streets, meeting the craftspeople & artists, walking around the shops and taking a break in a restaurant. Don't forget the market on Saturday morning where you will be able to taste the famous local wine "Côte de Blaye".
Plage Des Nonnes - 45 mins by car
Our nearest beach, Plage des Nonnes in Meschers-sur-Gironde, is a lovely very pretty secluded bay. With is sandy beach and calm waters its the perfect place to spend the day.

Bikki Beach - Set against the cliffs at the back of the beach is this wonderful resturant and bar. One of our favourite places offering tapas style food, great drinks and lovely views across the Gironde.
